Council Meeting
November 11th, 7PM
“As long as autumn lasts, I shall not have hands, canvas and colours enough to paint the beautiful things I see” – Vincent Van Gogh
As the trees blaze with shades of red, orange and gold, the changing leaves seem to whisper that colder days are on their way, the warm tones of autumn create a striking contrast to the cool winds that begin to sweep through the air. Each falling leaf marks the slow retreat of summer’s warmth, replaced by the crisp bite of approaching winter. The beauty of the fall colors carries a quiet reminder that nature is preparing for rest, wrapping the world in color before the frost sets in.
When the cold weather settles in and the chilly winds sweep through the streets, many children face the season without the warmth of a proper coat. While most bundle up in layers to stay cozy, some must brave the cold in thin jackets or sweaters that offer little protection. The dropping temperatures serve as a stark reminder of the importance of helping those in need, especially the youngest among us. A simple coat can make all the difference-bringing not only warmth but also comfort, safety, and the joy of knowing someone cares.
Thanks to everyone who came out for the turkey dinner on October 15. With the generous support of our diners/doners we were able to order 35 boxes of coats to support our winter gear for children program. I expect delivery in early November and will begin distributing them as soon as possible.
Catholic Charities of west Michigan with Molena Health will also be holding their annual coats for kids’ distribution on Saturday, November 15 from 9:00am to 2:00pm. We have sent about a dozen volunteers in the past. If you would like to join us this year, please contact Brian Powers @ 231-557-8152 or powersbrian17@hotmail.com.

Jokes and Reflections
Joke this month :
Texas
The Sheriff pulled up next to the guy unloading garbage out of his pick-up into the ditch.
The Sheriff asked, “Why are you dumping garbage in the ditch?
Don’t you see that sign right over your head.”
“Yep,” he replied. “That’s why I’m dumpin’ it here, ‘cause it says: ‘Fine For Dumping Garbage.’”
