From the Desk of the Grand Knight

Council Meeting
Thursday, November 11, 2021 – 7:00 PM

Brother Knights,

As we are getting back to our lives as we once knew them, more opportunities are becoming available for us to use our talents to help the community.  I would encourage you to get out there and be part of the giving.  Throughout the fall and into the winter we have a number of events that have a wide range of tasks and every task is key to making our organization run smoothly.  If anybody is interested in helping at an event or has an event that they think the Knights of Columbus should be part of, please give me a call, text, or email.  Matt Carlton 231-740-4651 or Carlton29@frontier.com

From the Editors Desk

Believe or not, a few of us are still golfing at Eagle Island Golf on Thursday morning at 9:45 am. As long as the weather holds, we will plan on golfing. Come on out and join the fun, but dress warmly. I think we might be at the end of our fun!

Joke(s) of the Month

Quick Ones

Once upon a time, there lived a king who was only 12 inches tall. He was a terrible king, but he made a great ruler.

Asked: Did you like working at the unemployment office?
Answered: Not really. Even when they fired me, I still had to come in.

Asked: Have you heard of the music genre called “bubble rap”?
Answered: It sounds like pop to me.

Asked: What do you call a knight who likes to scare people?
Answered: Sir Prize.

Asked: How much do you weigh?
Answered: About 200 pounds with my glasses on.

Continued: How much with them off?
Answered: I don’t know, I can’t read the numbers.

Farmer’s Names

George, the farmer, had so many children that he ran out of names.  So he started calling his kids after something around his farm.

It was the first day of school and the teacher asked each child their name.  When he got to one of the farmer George’s sons, the boy replied, ‘Wagon Wheel.’

The teacher said, ‘I need your real name boy, to which the lad replied, ‘It’s Wagon Wheel, sir…Really.’

The teacher rather annoyed rejoined, ‘All right young man, take yourself right down to the Principal’s office this minute.’

The youngster pushed himself out of his chair, turned to his sister, and said, ‘C’mon, ‘Chicken Feed’, he ain’t gonna believe you, either.’

Get to the Other Side

There’s this ‘not-so-bright young woman out for a walk. She comes to a river and sees another woman on the opposite bank.

“Yoo-hoo” she shouts, “how can I get to the other side?”

The second woman looks up the river, then down the river, then shouts back, “You are on the other side.”
