From the Desk of
the Grand Knight
Thursday, August 12, 2021 – 7:00 PM
August is here and in the Catholic Church, August is a transitional month with two important feasts, the feast of Transfiguration (August 6th) and the feast of the Assumption (August 15). There are many other feasts throughout the here if interested.
Summer is definitely in full swing and with things opening up, many people are taking vacations and getting out to see the world again. Be safe on your travels and enjoy your families. Hope to see you all down at the club and at church.
If you are involved in an event within our community, first off thank you, and second, could you send me info about the event? I can then track our involvement within the community and it would be great for helping me keep track of all that we do in the community. Please send info to Carlton29@frontier.com or just drop me a text at 231-740-4651.
The patio is open, so make sure you take advantage of the patio. Steve will continue to have dinners on Wednesday nights, please come down for a dinner to support the club.
I would ask that you add into your prayers, that God may guide our leaders and all of us to make the place we live in better than the day before. I believe that all of us can make a difference, especially in our own community, it starts with each one of us.
Council meetings will be on the second Thursday of each month and everybody is welcome and encouraged to join us for our monthly meeting. This month our council meeting will be on July 8th @ 7 pm. I hope all Brother Knights and their families are doing well, but for those that are going through tough times please pray for them. See the members in need on the website and keep them in your prayers.
Ushering at St. Francis:
Please help to usher at Mass on Sunday at 11:00 am. Please add these dates to your calendar and try to arrive about 20 minutes early to get your instructions.

Building Association News
Effective July 1, 2021, the price of drinks will be increasing. With cost going up, we needed to raise the prices. As of the last Building Association meeting, all drinks will increase by $.50. It has been over ten years since we have raised our prices. However, this is still quite a bargain at the new price.
The Building Association would like to thank everyone who helped with all the activities including dinners, bartending, cleaning, etc., during this COVID-19. Without all of you who volunteered, we would have been in trouble financially. Please check the website event calendar for all future events.
During the summer months, we still have our Wednesday night dinners…dine-in, drive-thru, and pick-up. Please try to support these dinners. Current dinner schedules coming up:
August 4 Chicken on the grill $10.00 5:30 – 7:30 p.m.
August 6 Steak Dinner on the grill $17.00 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
August 11 Burgers and music $10.00 5:30 – 7:30 p.m.
August 18 TBD 5:30 – 7:30 p.m.
August 25 French Dip $10.00 5:30 – 7:30 p.m.

We will do our best to keep it updated Please check the Website at www.kc706.com click on the Calendars, then Event Calendar most of it is accurate. Thank you, for understanding!

Still golfing at Eagle Island Golf on Thursday morning at 9:45 am. Come out and join the fun. Maybe a few bets, but you will never lose more than a couple dollars. Who knows you might win a couple too.
